Anol Bhattacherjee

Anol Bhattacherjee (Dr. B) is a Professor of Business Analytics & Information Systems, Director of the MS-BAIS program, and Exide Professor at the University of South Florida. He has authored over 100 publications, has over 35,000 citations on Google Scholar, and served on the editorial boards of the top journals in information systems. His 2001 MIS Quarterly paper, cited almost 10,000 times, is credited with creating a new stream of research on technology continuance. He was the Principal Investigator or Co-PI in US federal grants exceeding $750,000. A 2021 Stanford University study ranked him as #12 in the world in career-wide research impact in the information systems discipline, and #8 for the year 2020. His free book on research methods titled "Social Science Research: Principles, Methods, and Practices" has been downloaded 1.3 million times, used in 223 countries on six continents, and translated into seven languages. In 2019, he was awarded the Stafford Beer Medal by the Operational Research Society, UK and the Fulbright-Nehru Distinguished Chair by the United States Department of State. In 2023, an artificial intelligence solution for mental health screening developed by his team won the first-place award at the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineering (IISE) Cup Competition, beating out teams from Amazon, France, and Germany. His research interests include healthcare informatics, social media, artificial intelligence, and corporate innovations, and he teaches classes on research methods, statistical data modeling, and text analytics. Dr. B holds PhD and MBA degrees from the University of Houston, and MS and BS degrees from Indian Institute of Technology.
