Eduardo Gonzalez

Eduardo C. Gonzalez, MD, FAAFP, is a tenured professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He has been teaching medical students for over 25 years, and his role as a teacher and student advisor has impacted countless students and residents. He is an active member of his community, where he has volunteered regularly at clinics and for the past 9 years has been the faculty co-medical director for the BRIDGE Healthcare Clinic, a student run clinic that serves people who may otherwise go without the care they need. Dr. Gonzalez is also the faculty advisor for Project World Health-a student organization that has been committed to medical missions in the Dominican Republic for the past 16 years. Dr. Gonzalez was named 2020 national Family Physician of the Year by the American Academy of Family Physicians. The national award honors one outstanding American family physician who provides patients with compassionate, comprehensive care and serves as a role model in his or her community, to other health professionals and to residents and medical students. Dr. Gonzalez is an alumnus of the University of South Florida Class of 1991, as well as the University of South Florida College of Medicine Class of 1994.
