Cyndy Sanberg

Dr. Sanberg received her Bachelor of Science degree from Ouachita Baptist University, a Master of Science and a doctorate in Neurobiology from the University of Texas at San Antonio Cajal Neuroscience Research Program, where she specialized in electrophysiology and studied the mechanisms of learning, memory, and long-term potentiation in the hippocampus of the brain. She has served as Vice President of Research & Development for Saneron CCEL Therapeutics and has over 10 years of experience developing a stem cell product from umbilical cord blood for the treatment of ALS and stroke. She has also established a cord blood stem cell bank at the University Of South Florida Center Of Excellence for Aging and Brain Repair. Her efforts while at Saneron included the development of a new cell separation product in collaboration with GE Healthcare. She has obtained over 15 NIH-sponsored grants for adult stem cell research and 5 U.S. issued patents and one pending. Dr. Sanberg is the author of over 80 scientific publications including, Cell Therapy, Stem Cells, and Brain Repair, a book dedicated to stem cell therapies and research. She has been a scientific reviewer for 15 scientific journals including Brain Research, Journal of Neuroscience, and Life Sciences. Her effortshave also been focused on all-natural, botanical approaches for health and well-being. She has seven patents and is an inventor for the platform technology of Natura Therapeutics, Inc., which was issued in 2008 and is a charter member of the National Academy of Inventors. Dr. Sanberg has established national and international marketing and sales for all of Natura's products while maintaining a strong research and development force for ongoing product development. She has been awarded 4 grants for nutraceutical research involving green tea for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. She has also served as project coordinator for several R & D programs affiliated with large nutraceutical companies studying botanical/herbal extracts for the treatment of various diseases. In addition to a history in scientific research and product development Dr. Sanberg also has extensive experience in business operations. Most recently, Dr. Sanberg serves as the Senior Director for Business Engagement & Internships for the Muma College of Business at USF where she builds relationships for the college and helps to establish internship programs with Tampa Bay and International companies for business students.
