John Kuhn
Professor
John Kuhn is a Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Chemical, Biological, and Materials Engineering at the University of South Florida. His R&D has focused on heterogeneous catalysis to advance solutions to environmental and energy challenges. The R&D has spanned both fundamental discoveries and translational impact. Dr. Kuhn has been a leader in the fields to advance small footprint biofuels production and scalable carbon recycling, which has been enabled by catalyst and materials breakthroughs. He has advised or co-advised >30 graduate students to degree completion, given numerous invited talks and seminars, co-directed an NSF REU, and has over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and patents. Two federally funded USF spinoffs / licensees have resulted from these efforts, with T2C-Energy currently piloting biogas to diesel technology and CL Chemical Company at the forefront of scalable carbon repurposing. His group has been funded by many agencies, including the DOE, NSF, Hinkley Center, NASA, FESC, and VentureWell.
