Kevin Hawley
Professor of Instruction
Kevin Hawley is a Master Instructor in the Zimmerman School of Advertising and Mass Communications. His teaching focus is advertising creativity and visual literacy. In his 11 years at USF, he has taught 14 different courses, six of which he created. He helped establish the Certificate in Visualization & Design, an interdisciplinary program with the School of Art & Art History. He has led study abroad programs in Florence and will be leading a study abroad program in Barcelona and co-leading a Paris spring break program. He has helped pilot the USF World Virtual Global Exchange program, partnering with colleagues in the Departamento de Communicacion Social at Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia. He has also collaborated on the branding and communication component of various research projects through USF Research & Innovation and with USF Health. He has served on the USF Faculty Senate and the USF Council on Technology for Instruction and Research. He holds a B.A. (Hons) and an M.A. from the University of Toronto. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in the USF Department of Communication. Prior to joining USF, Kevin spent more than 20 years as a creative director at advertising agencies in the US and Canada.
