Hana Totary-Jain

Dr. Hana Totary-Jain is a Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. She earned her PhD from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and completed postdoctoral training at Columbia University, with specialized expertise in Immunology, Pharmacology, and Physiology. With over 25 years of research experience, Dr. Totary-Jain's work focuses on noncoding RNAs - including microRNAs and SINE-derived RNAs - in cardiovascular and placental biology. Her laboratory leads the development of translational RNA therapeutics, pioneering cell-selective nanotherapies for vascular inflammation, neointimal hyperplasia, and antiviral immunity. Dr. Totary-Jain has been continuously funded by the National Institutes of Health and has received numerous accolades, including the 2020 Alan T. Hirsch, MD Mid-Career Award, the 2013 Robert W. Hobson, II, MD Early Career Investigator Award from the American Heart Association, and fellowships from the Israel Ministry of Science and the Diabetes Research Centre at the Hebrew University. She is internationally recognized for her contributions to vascular and reproductive biology and for her dedication to mentoring the next generation of physicians and scientists.
