Ghanim Ullah
Associate Professor
Dr. Ullah is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at University of South Florida (Tampa). Dr. Ullah is a computational biophysicist interested in a broad range of biological problems, especially neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Down Syndrome, epilepsy, migraine, and stroke. He received a PhD degree in Physics from Ohio University in 2006. Before joining USF as an Assistant Professor in 2013, he completed seven years of postdoctoral training in Neural Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University (2006-2010) and Theoretical Biology from Los Alamos National Laboratory (2010-2013). He also worked as NSF Early Career Visitor at the Mathematical Biosciences Institute of Ohio State University for one year. He has received more than $2M in federal funding, published more than 50 research articles, and given many invited talks nationally and internationally. His research on developing a unifying theory for epileptic seizures, migraine, and stroke has been highlighted by many science news outlets, including ScienceDaily, Science World Report, and National Science Foundation.
