Srinivas Tipparaju
Professor
Srinivas Tipparaju, Ph.D. is the Saunders Endowed Chair in Geriatric Pharmacotherapy and Department Chair and Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Taneja College of Pharmacy, at the University of South Florida. He completed his education from prestigious institutions in India with Bachelor of Pharmacy from Nagpur University and Master of Pharmacy (Pharmacology) from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani), Rajasthan. He completed his Ph.D. work in Pharmacology at Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow and then relocated to the U.S. where he completed his post-doctoral training in Pediatric Cardiology from Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Tipparaju moved to the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at University of Louisville, Kentucky and worked first as Research Associate, and was then promoted to Instructor, and received his first faculty appointment as Assistant Professor at University of Louisville School of Medicine. After moving to the University of South Florida, Tampa, he received tenure and was promoted to Associate Professor and then Full Professor at Taneja College of Pharmacy in USF Health. He is a highly accomplished researcher and received competitive prestigious extramural funding for conducting laboratory research and published top notch research papers, peer-reviewed journal articles, patents, published book chapters, edited a book. He has supervised, and trained students, trainees in the laboratory. He has received NIH R01 grants, R21 for supporting and enhancing research projects and worked as Co-I, collaborator, or consultant and received several Florida grants and funding support from Industry for training students and researchers in the laboratory. Students and trainees from Dr. Tipparaju's research laboratory have gone on to pursue successful careers in their chosen fields in academics, industry, or higher education.
