Mahuya Pal
Associate Professor
Dr. Mahuya Pal is Associate Professor in the Department of Communication. She received her PhD in organizational communication from Purdue University. Her research program examines social imaginaries articulated by underprivileged communities across the world in their organizations of struggle. She contextualizes her research within the twenty-first century concerns about ever-widening economic and cultural disparities and environmental degradation. Her co-edited book entitled Organizing at the Margins: Theorizing Organizations of Struggle in the Global South received the Outstanding Book award from the Organizational Communication Division at the National Communication Association. The book presents organizations of struggle by disenfranchised members in the global South and brings forth a wide variety of organizational knowledge to think of a more just and equitable world.
