Seden Dogan
Assistant Professor of Instruction
Seden Dogan is an assistant professor of instruction and internship coordinator at the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in the Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida. Dr. Dogan earned her PhD and master's degrees from Akdeniz University in Turkiye. She has been teaching since 2013. At the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, she teaches introduction to hospitality and event management courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. She has 18 years of hospitality and tourism work experience in different departments such as housekeeping, reservation, and sales & marketing with companies like InterContinental, Renaissance, and Yeego.com. Her research interest includes how employees and customers perceive emerging and innovative technologies. She mainly focuses on service robot acceptance, 3D food printing implementations, and ethical use of AI. Her research has been published in internationally refereed journals, including the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology, The Services Industrial Journal, and Tourism Management Perspectives. She has presented her research at various international conferences, including SECSA, MTCON, and EuroCHRIE. While doing her postdoctoral research at the USF College of Hospitality and Tourism Leadership in 2019-2020, she was recognized with the Outstanding Visiting Scholar Award. In 2024, she was also recognized with the Instructional Faculty Award, one of the most prestigious USF Women in Leadership Dr. Kathleen Moore Faculty Excellence Awards.
