Nicholas Carris
Associate Professor
Nicholas W. Carris, PharmD, FCCP, BCPS, is an Associate Professor (Tenured) in the USF Health Taneja College of Pharmacy. He is also the Vice-Chair for the Department of Pharmacotherapeutics and Clinical Research and Director for the Division of Ambulatory Care. Dr. Carris completed his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Florida and subsequently completed a residency in Pharmacy Practice and fellowship in Family Medicine. He has extensive experience in various pharmacy service lines, including hospitals, transitions of care, community pharmacies, and primary care offices. Over the past several years his practice has focused on polypharmacy, medication adherence, and deprescribing. He also played a pivotal role in leading pharmacists at USF Health to develop novel and billable service lines. Dr. Carris research focuses on better ways of preventing diabetes and heart disease. He has co-authored 50 peer reviewed manuscripts including a consensus study report for the National Academy of Medicine.
