Manh-Huong Phan
Research Professor
Dr. Manh-Huong Phan is a Full Professor of Physics at the University of South Florida and serves as Director of the Center for Materials Innovation and Technology at VinUniversity. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering Physics from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom, in 2006. A globally recognized leader in magnetic nanoscience, Dr. Phan specializes in the development of advanced magnetic nanomaterials and sensor technologies for applications in energy-efficient magnetic refrigeration, spintronics, quantum computation, magnetic hyperthermia therapy, biodetection, and human healthcare monitoring. His pioneering work has significantly advanced the understanding and realization of tunable room-temperature ferromagnetism in two-dimensional van der Waals materials down to the monolayer limit. Dr. Phan has published over 360 peer-reviewed articles in ISI-indexed journals, receiving more than 19,400 citations. He is the Managing Editor and Co-Founder of the Journal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices, an Editor for Applied Sciences, an International Advisory Member of Journal of Electronic Materials, and an Editorial Board Member of Scientific Reports. He is an elected Fellow of the American Physical Society and a recipient of numerous honors, including an Honorary Doctorate (2021) and Honorary Medal (2018) from Vietnam National University, Hanoi. He has received multiple USF Outstanding Faculty Research Achievement Awards and the USF Outstanding Graduate Faculty Mentor Award (HM). Since 2020, he has been ranked among the Worlds Top 1 Percent Scientists. Dr. Phan is a frequent plenary and keynote speaker and an active organizer of major international conferences in magnetism and nanotechnology.
