Catherine Nadeau

Dr. Catherine Nadeau, DNP, PhD, APRN, FNP-BC, CNE, is an Assistant Professor and Family Nurse Practitioner Program Director at the University of South Florida College of Nursing. She is a clinician-scholar whose work focuses on advancing cardiovascular health for women across the lifespan, with an emphasis on prevention, early risk identification, and equitable care delivery. She co-founded and leads the Healthy Hearts Program, a nurse practitioner-led cardiovascular care model embedded within a cardio-obstetrics framework. The program focuses on identifying and addressing cardiovascular risk in women, particularly following hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, while supporting long-term prevention and care continuity. Her work emphasizes scalable, team-based approaches that bridge primary care, cardiology, and women's health, with a strong focus on improving outcomes in underserved and under-resourced populations. She also contributes to innovation in women's health through grant-funded initiatives and is actively engaged in national and international collaborations advancing cardio-obstetrics and primary care innovation. As an educator, Dr. Nadeau teaches across the FNP curriculum and leads efforts in competency-based curriculum redesign aligned with national standards. Her teaching integrates simulation, clinical reasoning, and real-world application to prepare practice-ready clinicians.
