Kevin Yelvington

Kevin A. Yelvington, D.Phil., is a Professor in the Department of Anthropology in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Florida. He has taught at USF since 1994. His research interests include critical political economy, Marxist approaches in anthropology, the politics of identity, economic development, tourism, and the history of science, all with a regional emphasis on Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and the USA. He is the recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship, a research grant from the National Science Foundation, and, most recently, a Fulbright Senior Scholar award to Alicante, Spain. He earned his D.Phil. in Social Anthropology at the University of Sussex in 1991.
