Yogi Goswami

Distinguished University Professor

Yogi Goswami is Distinguished University Professor andDirector of the Clean Energy Research Center at the University of South Florida. He is the Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of the "Solar Energy" journal. Dr. Goswami has published 22 books, 38 book chapters, and over 400 refereed technical papers. He holds 31 patents, with some of the inventions becoming commercialized and available worldwide. Products based on his photo-electrochemical oxidation (PECO) inventions, commercially available as Molekule, are helping allergy and asthma sufferers globally. His contributions in combined power/cooling cycles have impacted global research in a new class of thermodynamic cycles. He has served as the President of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES), a Governor of ASME International, Senior Vice President of ASME, and President of the International Association for Solar Energy Education (IASEE). His inventions and innovations in solar energy have led to many awards, including his induction into the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame in 2016.His PECO invention was named as one of the top 25 inventions for 2017 by Time Magazine. Dr. Goswami is also the recipient of the prestigious Karl Ber Solar Energy Medal of Merit Award; Farrington Daniels Award from ISES (highest award of ISES); Frank Kreith Energy Award from ASME (highest energy award of ASME); John Yellott Award from ASME, Charles Greely Abbott Award from the American Solar Energy Society (highest award of ASES), Hoyt Clark Hottel award from ASES, Joan Hodges Queneau Palladium Medal from AAES and the National Audubon Society; and more than 50 awards and certificates from major engineering and scientific societies for his work in energy efficiency and renewable energy.
