Bryanna Fox

Associate Professor

Dr. Bryanna Fox is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology at the University of South Florida (USF), and Co-Director of the USF Center for Justice Research & Policy. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and is a former FBI Special Agent. Her research focuses on evidence-based policing, crime prevention, and the developmental and psychological risk factors for offending. She has published more than 40 peer-reviewed studies in outlets including Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency, Justice Quarterly, Law & Society Review, Social Forces, Psychological Bulletin, and the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, and written four books on evidence-based policing and crime prevention strategies. Dr. Fox is the Co-Editor of Justice Quarterly and has received over $3 million in funding for her research. She also received the 2014 Excellence in Law Enforcement Research Award from the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the 2017 Early Career Award from the ASC Division of DLC, and the 2019 Outstanding Research Achievement Award and 2020 Chancellor's Award for Civic and Community Engagement from the University of South Florida.She has been featured as an expert on ABC, BBC News, CBS News, CNN, NBC's Today Show and NBC News, NPR, The New York Times, Rolling Stone Magazine, The Washington Post, USA Today, A&E, Investigation Discovery, Oxygen, Tampa Bay Times, and more.
