Sara Flory

Professor

Sara Barnard Flory is a Professor in the Physical Education Teacher Education program at the University of South Florida. Dr. Flory earned her Ph.D. in Kinesiology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, with an emphasis on physical education pedagogy. Her research interests center on preparing teachers for various school settings, and improving physical education and physical activity settings that are relevant for all students and teachers. Dr. Flory focuses on teacher preparation practices as well as policies that support education. At USF, she was recently recognized with an Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award for her innovative practices within physical education courses. She is a Fulbright Scholar, named a Research Fellow for both national (SHAPE) and international (AIESEP) organizations, and was recently appointed an Editor for Journal of Teaching in Physical Education.
