Fred Mannering
Professor
Dr. Fred Mannering is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Executive Director of the Center for Urban Transportation Research at the University of South Florida. He was previously the Charles Pankow Professor of Civil Engineering at Purdue University, Head of Civil Engineering at Purdue, Professor and Chair of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Washington and an Assistant Professor at the Pennsylvania State University. His research interests are in the application of econometric and statistical methods to a variety of engineering problems, highway safety, transportation economics, automobile demand, and travel behavior. His body of work has been cited over 22,000 times in Scopus, over 18,000 times in the Web-of-Science core collection database, and over 39,000 times in Google Scholar. Dr. Mannering has published over 170 refereed journal articles, 2 textbooks, over 60 other publications (conference proceedings, project reports, book reviews and commentaries), and has given over 150 invited lectures, keynote speeches, and presentations at professional conferences. Dr. Mannering is currently Founding Editor and Editor-in-Chief of Elsevier Science's Analytic Methods in Accident Research (2012-present), which now has the highest Web-of-Science Journal Impact Factor in the transportation field and was previously Editor-in-Chief of Elsevier Science's Transportation Research Part B: Methodological (2003-2012).
